eBooks are a great idea, and they allow you to read books on eReaders or any of your other mobile devices. eBooks are better for the environment as they do not use up extra paper, and require less energy to transport. eBooks are also easily accessible through all of your devices if you use services such as the Amazon Kindle Store, or Google Books. They are also generally cheaper. Textbooks are also available as eReads.
